We at Borgo Grondaie would like to recommend some of the most renowned events  around Siena that will make your experience unforgettable.   What are the best festivals in and around Siena?Mushroom Festival in Pievescola    7-9-10 / 14-15-16-17 September In September, the 48th edition of the Sagra del Fungo (Mushroom Festival) will be held in the pretty a pretty hamlet called Pievescola near Casole d'Elsa At the event, you will be surrounded by the amazing landscape of the Tuscan countryside and have the opportunity to taste all the flavours of this land. Mushrooms are picked fresh in the wooded dwellings of the Montagnola, a wide hilly area divided between Casole, Monteriggioni, Sovicille and Siena. The pinnacle of the area is Montemaggio, an area rich in the production and harvesting of porcini mushrooms, chanterelles, leccini and others to be cooked into exquisite dishes. All obviously accompanied by Chianti Colli Senesi wine, which match perfectly with the dishes served. Good Mushroom specialties, good music and wine; an unmissable event for mushroom lovers!   Festa del Luca in San Gusmè  From 6th to 10th September One of the most eagerly awaited festivals in the province of Siena, above all because of the amazing location where one can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Chianti hills. A festival that encompasses historical traditions such as crossbow shooting with the Crossbowmen's Company of Montaperti, the palio of the barrels, fireworks, and excursions to discover the Etruscan and mediaeval beauties. Good food and excellent Chianti wine are the real protagonists of the evenings of the Festa del Luca.Many visitors are enraptured by the scenic beauty of the village, but the welcome will leave you even more speechless. The inhabitants actively participate in festivals and celebrations to contribute to the sustainable, artistic and cultural development of the area. International Beer Festival in Rapolano from 8 to 10 September The 17th edition of this beer festival will be held in the Parco dell'Acqua di Rapolano near Siena. Rapolano Terme is a charming spa town in Tuscany, known for its healing thermal waters. Of the many beer festivals, the one in Rapolano is one of the longest-running in the area, established in 2006 to celebrate an alliance with many brewers from Belgium. At this event, in addition to beer, friendship is celebrated and the value of sharing a festive moment obviously in the company of the protagonist: quality craft beer.If you are a beer lover and are curious to find out more about the various local producers, here is the Beer Village website   Montalcino HONEY Week       from 8 to 10 September The medieval village of Montalcino, renown for the production of Brunello wine, welcome the 45th edition of the Honey Week. This annual event celebrates the precious nectar of bees and offers a unique experience to immerse oneself in the village's honey culture and culinary tradition. The event will take place in the picturesque streets and squares of the village where strawberry tree, rosemary and rhododendron honey will be on offer. These are some of the rare and renowned Italian honeys that will be available for tasting and sale to all visitors. There will also be other products such as royal jelly, propolis, wax and pollen. Expert beekeepers will also share their knowledge about the life of bees, the honey production process and the importance of preserving these insects for the ecosystem. In addition to honey, the markets present other typical local products, such as cheeses, wines, sweets and local handicrafts.
